Testing the Drug Dapansutrile for Adults with Gout Flare

Gout arthritis occurs in a persons joints causing flaring (swelling and severe pain). This study will test a drug called dapansutrile to treat adults with this condition. The study wants to see if the drug will help people with the disease and is safe. People in the study will be randomly chosen to be treated with dapansutrile or a placebo. A placebo looks like the study drug but does not have the medication. Being in the study requires at least 4 study visits at the clinic for about 36 days and 1 follow-up phone call. During the treatment period, participants will be contacted every 24 to 48 hours via telephone or text messaging. Medical tests will be done during the study to track the health of participants.

Inclusion Criteria
- Age 18 years and older
- Diagnosis of Gout with study-specific criteria
- Grout flare-up that began within 96 hours before participation
- In good health other than Gout condition
- Participants of age use specific birth control
Exclusion Criteria
- Pregnant or Breastfeeding
- Other types of arthritis
- History of clinical mental health condition
- Known diagnosis of kidney disease
- In another drug study 1 year before participation
