Deep Brain Therapy with Ultrasound for Treatment of Cognitive Impairment

(IRB#: IRB_00173042)

This study is testing a safe new kind of brain stimulation as therapy for cognitive impairment (difficulty remembering, learning new things, or making everyday decisions). Recent technology has made it possible to improve the ultrasound (a way to see inside of a persons body) used to reach deep areas of a persons brain. This study wants to show that ultrasound reaches focused areas of the brain. Learn its effects on cognitive performance. As well as the overall experience of deep brain therapy with ultrasound. Being in the study requires 6 to 9 study visits at a clinic for about 1 to 2 months. This includes completing surveys, interviews, a physical exam, ultrasound, and MRI (a way to see the inside of a persons body). Medical tests will be done during the study to track the health of participants. The study wants to see if deep brain therapy with ultrasound will help people with cognitive impairment.
